Irish Rose by Nora Roberts, published 1988 - Rating 5 stars

The second book in Roberts' Irish Hearts series, this is a classic, simple, and sweet romance.  Erin McKinnon and Burke Logan are both passionate characters, and their journey is fun to read.  The two meet in Ireland while Burke, who owns a racing horse farm, is buying some prized thoroughbreds.  He takes one look at Erin, and knows he has to have her too.  Now don't take that the wrong way - he doesn't see her as a horse!  He's just madly attracted to her, and knows that he can't let this be their final meeting. So he offers her a job and Erin, who has ambitions to do more with her life, heads to America.  And of course, it's not long before they are caught up in a whirlwind romance.

I always love reading Nora Roberts.  Her characters are always strong and interesting people and I'm never bored. Even her early books like this one keep you hooked, and you can see why she has become the juggernaut she is today. It is really fun to go back to the beginning with authors.  You can see where they were verses where they are today, and it can be fun to take the journey with them. I found this book to be a joy to read and I'm looking forward to the third in the series.
